Treating Rosacea

Treating Rosacea:
Many people in America suffer from Rosacea, in fact, around 14 million of Americans do according to the National Rosacea Society.
So for me it was hard to tell if I had rosacea. Especially because mine was very mild and most of the images I found displayed severe rosacea. Hopefully this description will help a bit. Skin with rosacea usually flushes and turns red very easily. Working out or being in the sun for a short period of time cause it to flush or even touching it. Red blood vessels on your face (red dots that sort of resemble pimples, but are flat and just red), and black or white head free pimples around your nose and cheeks are signs of rosacea as well. So if you match this description you have it, luckily for you we have some help and advice for you!
First I have to give you some bad news. Usually people have to see a dermetologist about this. It is usually treated through anitbioics and a special guide set up for your skin. When rosacea goes untreated it generally gets worse. Many over the counter products don't help because they aren't a primary care source. They are simply things to help take away the redness for a bit.
Now I have some good news! There are some things you can try in the mean time, that will help and if you're lucky-cure it.
Before you can treat your rosacea you have to learn what can be causing it. Extremes in weather - such as extreme sun, winds or snow. Also extreme temperature try to keep your body temperature comfortable, not to hot or to cold. Especially while working out. I don't know if you have read any of my other articles, but stress causes acne, hair loss, nail chipping, and even rosacea. Try to do things that calm you and keep your stress levels down. Numerous foods and drinks inflame rosacea as well. Avoid hot drinks, alcoholic beverages, dairy, tomatoes, vinegar, chocolate and vanilla. And last, but not least don't use irratating skin products such as toners, astringents, scrubs, retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids and anything else that will bother skin unless, of course, your dermetologist says otherwise.
Now we can treat your rosacea. Use products that contain sulfur. Make sure not to use benzoyl peroxide. Prescriptions for topical antibiotic metronidazole, like Noritate Cream or Metrogel or azaleic acid cream like Finacea are also very helpful in treating rosacea. If your rosacea is very severe chances are you will have to take a prescription along with the finacea etc. Make sure you use mineral makeup. It covers the rosacea and is a lot less irratating!.
